Learn a Little About Me!
Hi! My name is Nayeli Arevalo, and I’m a third-year student at California State University, Long Beach, majoring in Public Relations. Through my coursework, which can be viewed under articles, I've developed skills in teamwork, communication, writing, media strategy, and audience engagement.
I’m an active member of Tri Delta, where I regularly participate in fundraising and volunteer work supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Being involved in philanthropy has strengthened my interest in meaningful storytelling and community-focused communication, which is why I enjoy writing about sustainability and social impact.
I’m especially passionate about music and sports as both industries and cultural spaces. I was a singer for nine years and grew up as a choir kid, which shaped my love for music and performance. I’ve sung at Disneyland and Disney World and had the opportunity to conduct my high school choir. I’m also certified in audio-visual production, including setup, breakdown, and programming stage lighting, giving me hands-on experience in live event environments.
Sports have also been a major part of my life. I played soccer for over 15 years, have refereed multiple sporting events, and grew up attending a wide variety of games especially soccer games. Being surrounded by sports culture has influenced my interest in sports media and public relations, especially in how communication, branding, and fan engagement shape the experience.
I hope to pursue a career in music or sports public relations, where I can combine creativity, strategy, and my passion for live events and culture.
